I completed these for Winter Solstice greeting cards for friends and family.

The stag is a recurring theme for me, representing the grace and beauty of the natural world. I wanted the candles in the antlers to connect him to the cosmos, and to represent light amidst the darkest days of the year. It’s mixed media - water based markers on watercolor paper, painted over with fluid acrylic.

The steampunk illustration is for someone very dear to me, loosely inspired by the Girl Genius comics. Ink on watercolor paper, with water based marker and colored pencil.
