Acrylic on Wood, 5”x4”, 2020

This little treasure box was created using the mischtechnik method popularized by Ernst Fuchs and the Vienna School of Visionary Art. It was an experiment using the method as I had learned it, and the result was a beautiful little painting.

Moths have consistently been one of my favorite types of creatures to spot in the wild, and there are few moths as magical and fae as the luna moth. In the summer of 2020 I had two encounters with these lovely creatures, which compelled me to paint this piece.
